This April, Merced Shakespearefest and Phoenix Creative Collective will be collaborating for “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged),” a chaotically hilarious attempt to perform all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in 97 minutes with three actors and way too many costumes.  Known for its fast-paced and irreverent style, this show reimagines the Bard’s entire collection of tragedies, comedies, and histories in a whirlwind of comedy.

“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” has been entertaining audience and introducing people to Shakespeare’s works for almost 40 years.  This recently revised version, updated for modern audiences, combines the talents of three local actors in a play that blends comedy, literature, and improv for an experience that is a little bit different every time.  Whether you’re a Shakespeare aficionado or someone who barely remembers reading "Romeo and Juliet" in high school, this will be a production for anyone in need of a good laugh.

Performance dates are April 4-13, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 2:00 PM. All shows will be held at the Blackbox Theater at The Merced Multicultural Arts Center (The MAC), 645 W. Main Street in Merced.  Tickets are $10-$20 and are on sale now through The MAC’s website, artsmerced.org.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door, depending on availability.
